Abstract
382,604. Rolling tubes. WIDUCH, W., 3, Wielkie Hajduki, Upper Silesia, Poland.-(Assignee of Rexin, W. ; 33, Cleverstrasse, D³sseldorf, Germany.) Aug. 12, 1932, No. 22586. Convention date, Aug. 14, 1931. [Class 83 (iv).] Skew-rolling mandrel carriages.-A hollow billet b is reduced to a tube by rotating it and feeding it forward between skew rolls a which are free to rotate, or may be driven. The billet b mounted on a mandrel d is gripped in a chuck &c. e rotated by a motor f, and the mandrel carriage &c. is fed forward by a screw h rotated by another motor g. The roll may be built up of independent conical rings 1-7 and a cylindrical part a which may be driven to give a polish to the tube. The rolls may be fed over the tube instead of the tube being fed into the rolls.
