[Class 39 (ii).] An electric lamp holder comprises a cup-shaped body A of insulating- material provided on its upper end with a central screw-threaded boss F formed integrally therewith to enable it to be secured directly to a conduit or other fitting, and with terminals C, E, mounted on opposite sides of the boss F to enable the holder to be connected readily to wires stretched in the open. Ribs H, H<1> provided with apertures H2, H<3> extend outwardly from the boss F, so that when the holder is suspended by its wires, the wires may be anchored to the ribs. The holder may be constructed to receive lamps of either the bayonet-joint or screw-threaded type. In the form shown the inside wall is screw-threaded and provided with a vertical slot A<2> to receive a metal leaf-spring B which is secured by a screw B<2> to a metal block B<3> in the top of the holder. A stem C<1> on the terminal C is screwed into the block B<3>, the upper end of the terminal being siotted to receive the end of a flexible wire D which is clamped upon a metal nut C<5> by an insulating- knob C<3>. A watertight packing-material B<4> is located between the top of the block B<3> and an enlargement C<2> of the stem C<1>. The central contact of the holder comprises a leaf spring E<3> which is folded upon itself to form a spring- seating connected by a lateral extension to a metal block connected to the terminal E.
