Abstract

382,097. Collars and cuffs; woven fabrics. HARTLEY, H., Kinnaird House, Pall Mall East, London. Nov. 20, 1931. No. 32256. [Class 141.] In the manufacture of double collars and cuffs, a fabric is employed intermediate in character between a single-ply fabric and a multi-ply fabric said fabric comprising two layers of weft threads 1, 2 spaced apart from one another but united together by binder warp threads 3. The region of folding a of the fabric may have thinner warp 3 or may be produced by the omission of certain of the warp threads in a narrow portion. The whole of a portion to one side of a predetermined line may have certain of the warp threads omitted, the weft threads being caused to lie in the same plane. The warp threads in the fold line may be more widely spaced than in the remainder of the fabric.
