Fashioned fabrics; fashioning, weaving to facilitate.-The outer fold of a double collar or cuff is woven under greater tension than the inner fold by means of parts g, h, Fig. 2, of different diameters on the forming- roll of the loom. The fabric is fed over the roll in strip form or as several meters on the forming, one sheet, the part b forming the outer fold and the part a the inner fold of each strip. At the line of fold, some of the warp threads of the intermediate or outer plies are omitted and those remaining are not interwoven with the weft. The outer or face side at the folded edge of a collar made from multiple-ply layers has the warp and weft threads interwoven with one another, and the weakening effected by manipulating the warps in the inner layer only. Collars or cuffs thus made retain their shapes without the use of a stiffening-agent.
