Abstract

380,569. Guide funnels for machines for spinning artificial silk. KIRKLEES, Ltd., BENNETT, A., and TONG, W., Tottington, Bury. Aug. 17, 1931, No. 23082. [Class 120 (ii).] The supports E of the guide funnels of centrifugal spinning-machines are pivoted to a link D coupled to an arm C pivoted on a bracket A secured to the traverse rail, and are provided with means, such as a pin e<2>, to engage an arm F also pivoted to the bracket A and maintained in the operative position by a stop a<3>, whereby when the parts are returned from the position they occupy when the cake is removed from the box, as shown in Fig. 2, the interengagement of the support and the arm F ensures the correct position of the funnel relative to the spinning-box. All the parts may be made of light metal such as aluminium or an aluminium alloy, of ebonite or of a phenol-formaldehyde condensation product.
