Abstract
380,552. Carrier bags. GIBBONS, H. S., 183, Hammersmith Road, London. July 25, 1931, No. 21299. [Class 133.] Handles 8, 12, comprising cardboard members slotted at 10, attached to each side of the mouth of a carrier bag are adapted to be passed in use through a slit 7 formed along or close to the fold line of the closure flap 5, and strengthened by a fabric layer 13, as shown in Fig. 4. The flap may have one or more tongues adapted to engage slots in the side 2. The handle members have end wings 9 and may be secured to the sides of the bag by adhesive or the handle 8 may, as shown, be enclosed within a fold 11 of the side 2.
