380,306. Transferring designs. DRUCKEREI & KARTONNAGEN, VORM. GEB. OBPACHER AKT.-GES., 7, Hofmannstrasse, Munich, Germany. Dec. 4, 1931, No. 33653. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1930. [Class 100 (ii).] In transferring designs or pictures to fabric bases, an intermediate layer adapted to penetrate into and open the pores of the fabric base, and to soften on applying the transfer under heat and pressure, is applied to the fabric base before the application of the transfer. Suitable materials for the intermediate layer are solutions of nitrocellulose in alcohol-ether and shellac solutions, and may be applied by spraying. The surface may be finally coated with lacquer or varnish. Specification 343,686 is referred to.
