Abstract

In a process for regulating and maintaining the activity of cyanide cementation baths, the decompositions of the cyanide present in the bath is at first slowed down by the addition, at the start, of alkaline or alkaline-reacting substances to the bath, and the stabilizing action of the alkaline or alkaline-reacting substances formed during the cementation process is prevented from assuming undesirable or dangerous proportions by the gradual or periodic additions of agents which render the said substances innocuous preferably as described in Specifications 379,752 or 379,763.
