Abstract

Dyestuff solutions capable of being injected for therapeutic purposes are manufactured by making an aqueous solution of a salt of a basic dyestuff with a dyestuff sulphonic acid in the presence of excess of a dyestuff sulphonic acid, which may be identical with or different from the dyestuff sulphonic acid used for the formation of the salt. It is not necessary first to isolate the insoluble salt and then to dissolve it in an excess of dyestuff sulphonic acid, since the basic dyestuff or its aqueous solution may be dissolved directly in an excess of the acid dyestuffs, or a mixture of the dyestuffs, containing an excess of the acid constituent may be dissolved in water. In examples: (1) solutions of trypan blue and 3 : 6-diamino - 10 - methylacridinium chloride are mixed and the resulting precipitate is dissolved in a solution of trypan blue; (2) a solution of 3 : 6-diamino-10-methylacridinium chloride is mixed with excess of a solution of trypan blue; (3) the precipitate obtained by mixing solutions of 3 : 6-diaminoacridine hydrochloride and trypan blue is dissolved in a solution of trypan blue; (4) solutions of 3 : 6-diamino-10-methylacridinium chloride and trypan red are mixed and the precipitate is dissolved in a solution of trypan red; (5) the precipitate obtained by mixing solutions of trypan blue and methylene blue medicinal is dissolved in a solution of trypan blue; (6) the precipitates obtained by mixing solutions of acid fuchsine and 3 : 6-diamino - 10 - methylacridinium chloride or methylene blue are dissolved in a solution of trypan blue or trypan red; (7) the precipitate of (1) is dissolved in a solution of trypan red; (8) solutions of trypan red and 3 : 6 - diamino - 10 - methylacridinium chloride are mixed and the precipitate dissolved in a solution of trypan blue.ALSO:Dyestuff solutions capable of being injected for therapeutic purposes are manufactured by making an aqueous solution of a salt of a basic dyestuff with a dyestuff sulphonic acid in the presence of excess of a dyestuff sulphonic acid, which may be identical with or different from the dyestuff sulphonic acid used for the formation of the salt.
