Abstract
379,543. Tables for beds. MITCHELL, F. B., 8, St. Aubyns, Hove, Sussex. Oct. 12, 1931, No. 28262. [Class 52 (iii).] A table or tray is mounted by means of crane-like arms on the head of a bed, or on the wall at the head of a bed, and raised and lowered by cables and pulleys. The Figure shows a table A with folding legs A<3> and with side uprights A<1>, A<2> attached to arms B, C which are pivoted at B2, C3, and are raised and lowered by cords F, D connected to a small winch G<3>, H. This is fitted with a friction washer or like brake device to enable it to hold the table in any desired position. In modifications, the table is fitted with curtains ; when the table is partly lowered, they serve as a screen. The suspension uprights A<1>, A<2> may be omitted and the table mounted directly on parallel links. The table may be fitted with drawers or chambers.
