Abstract

378,930. Controlling motor vehicles. SOLEX, Ltd. and MANTELL, L., 223, Marylebone Road, London. April 21, 1931, No. 11815. [Class 79 (v).] To prevent both carburetters of a bi-fuel carburetting system from being used simultaneously, a pedal 2, Fig. 2, actuates the petrol and a pedal 3 the crude fuel carburetter. If pedal 2 is depressed, a pin 7 thereon interlocks with a part 12 and prevents movement of pedal 3 ; if pedal 3 be depressed a rod 10 is moved upwardly interlocking with pin 7 and preventing movement of pedal 3. The pedal 2 is inconveniently placed so as to offer the minimum of inducement to use it.
