Abstract

378,551. Wheel tyres. PARSONS NON-SKID CO., Ltd., 35, Macaulay Road, London, and CARRINGTON, G. F.,. Farley Grange, Westerham, Kent. May 19, 1931, No. 14799. [Class 144 (ii).] A chain for a non-skid device arranged across the tyre comprises a number of metal plates A linked together, each plate being provided with recessed inclined side margins A which engage the road. Further road-engaging projections A3 are formed by bending out portions of the metal from each plate A and other metal plates or links B engage the apertures thus formed to connect the plates A together. Bifurcated members C attached to the end-plates A are formed with hooks C<1> to engage a ring or chain located on each side of the wheel. In a modification, Fig. 3, the apertures formed in the plates A are H-shaped and the connecting. plates or links B have their ends bent to form road engaging projections B<1>.
