Convention date, Jan. 26. [Class 81 (ii).] In gas - mask filters, adapted to be attached directly to the mask, a series of filter layers are provided, successively decreasing, in the direction of now of the gases, both in cross-sectional area and in specified resistance to the gases (i.e. resistance per unit cube). As shown the layers comprise fog or smoke filtering material b, activated carbon a, and chemically reactive material d, e, respectively. Air spaces such as c may be provided between the layers. The canister may be frusto-conical or conico-stepped as shown, the steps retaining in position reticulated screens between the layers.
