Abstract

377,395. Tramway and like vehicle undercarriages. BRUSH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., Falcon Works, Loughborough, and PEAT, A., The Cottage, Mill Lane, Barrow-on-Soar, both in Leicestershire. June 26, 1931, No. 18472. [Class 103 (vi).] In order to permit the axle 2 of a tramway or like vehicle truck of the pendulum type to have a slight radiating movement in addition to its lateral movement relative to the truck, the axle-box 3 is provided on its upper surface with a part-spherical seat 4 on which rests a correspondingly shaped cap 5 fitted to an inverted U- shaped saddle 6, which, in turn, is connected to a lateral suspension spring 8. The members 4, 5 may be rectangular, circular or other suitable shape.
