Abstract

376,938. Percussive drills. HOLMAN, P. M., HOLMAN, K. J., of Holman Bros., and COCK, B., Woodbine, both in Camborne, Cornwall. June 27, 1931, No. 18644. [Class 124.] The percussive drill 10 is mounted to slide on guides mounted on the feed cylinder 13. The valve 11 controls the air supply to the percussive cylinder and to the conduits 35, 36 which in turn connect with the tubes 22, 23 which attach the drill to the feed piston rod 18. Air from the tube 22 enters the conduit 31, the hollow piston rod 18 and hole 19 to feed the tool forward, withdrawal being effected by air from tube 23 and conduits 32, 33, 21 entering the feed cylinder, air to the percussive cylinder being shut off meanwhile.
