Abstract
376,736. Knitted fabric. WILDT, E., HOLMES, H. H., and WILDT & CO., Ltd., Adelaide Works, Leicester. April 9, 1931, Nos. 13982/32 and 13983/32. Divided on 376,350. Drawings to Specification. [Class 74 (ii).] Knitted fabric having non-laddering properties is produced from ground and warp loops knitted together or inter-locked, the latter lying on the rear face of the fabric. The warp loops may, in places, appear on the front face of the fabric or be absent altogether from some wales. Generally, the ratio of the diameters of the ground and warp yarns is 1.4 to 1 or over. In a preferred method of carrying the invention into effect the warp yarns are made to appear on the rear face by adjusting their tensions relatively to the ground yarn. In a method illustrated by drawings, each warp yarn is first wrapped round its needle and subsequently the ground yarn is laid on the needles, but this order may be reversed. Specifications 313,657, 327,958, 327,987, 327,988, 328,026, 331,930, [all in Class 74 (ii), Knitting &c.], 347,307, 364,108, are referred to. The fabric made according to this invention is intended to be used in articles other than hosiery.
