Abstract
376,639. Washing, cleaning, &c., domestic articles &c. EDWARDS, H. C., 41, Charleville Road, West Kensington, London. Dec. 21, 1931, No. 35311. [Classes 19 and 138 (i).] A brush 32, mop, or like appliance, which can be used for cleaning or polishing domestic articles, is rotatably mounted in a handle 28 and is connected by a flexible shaft 21 to an electric motor 5, and means .are provided for supplying water to the brush or like appliance through a flexible pipe 29. The pipe at one end leads to a chamber in communication with apertures leading to the bristles 32. The other end of the pipe is connected to a chamber 8 containing an electric heater, and supplied by a pipe 11 with water from a domestic supply. Switches 17, 18 and a plug 15 for connection to a source of current are provided. A brush 35 prevented from rotation is slidably mounted on the handle 28 and is held in position by means of a grub screw on the sleeve 33. Means may be provided to vary the rotation of the brush 32. The pipe 29 may be provided with a tap to control the supply of water to the brush and to enable hot or cold water to be drawn off for other uses. A single control on the handle 28 may be provided for controlling both the running of the motor and the flow of water.
