Abstract
376,560. Induction machines. BÍTTCHER, P., Bahrenfeld. Altona, near Hamburg, Germany. Sept. 30, 1931, No. 27254. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1930. [Class 35.] In a double-motor unit machine wherein one member of the second unit is driven by the squirrel-cage secondary of the first motor unit, the driven element of the second unit is fed at a higher frequency than that of the supply from the rotor of a frequency changer, thus eliminating slip rings. In the form shown the stationary primaries 13, 18 of the first motor unit and frequency changer respectively are connected to the supply, and their secondaries 14, 17, drive and feed respectively the primary 15 of the second motor unit. The squirrel-cage secondary 16 of the second motor unit is mounted on the driven shaft 5. The units may be superimposed, but are always coaxial.
