Abstract
Gas purifying solutions containing sulphur compounds of the alkali metals and the acids of the tin group of qualitative analysis such as thioarsenates, as well as thiosulphates, are freed from the latter by concentration followed by crystallization. The solutions initially contain a thiosulphate such as the sodium salt, and a compound of an element of the tin group, such as arsenious oxide, the quantity of each respectively being less than 400 grams per litre and from ,5-1 per cent. The gases to be purified, such as coal gas and other fuel gases, contain sulphuretted hydrogen.
