374,802. Collapsable vestibules for railway vehicles. RENAR, H. J., 110, Rue de la Gare, St. Denis, Seine, France. Jan. 13, 1932, No. 1051. Convention date, .Feb. 5, 1931. [Class 103 (iv).] Either the whole or only the inner or outer portions or linings of each half of a flexible gangwaybellows for railwav coaches is formed of rubber as indicated at 6, Fig. 4, having embedded therein a metal reinforcement 8 and a web of canvas or like material 7, thereby providing a seamless, water and dust excluding structure which tends, by its elasticity, to assume a normal pleated condition. Each half-bellows E, Fig. 6, is provided with a coupling frame e having pegs and sockets F engaging with corresponding elements on the coupling frame of the associated half-bellows, the frames e being connected by hooks, clips or like means assisted, if desired, by pneumatic suction devices. Spacing-bars extending between the coupling-frames and ends of the coaches, one to each half-bellows, are dispensed with, thus permitting the entire bellows to flex uniformly on curves.
