Abstract
374,366. Clamps. RICH, I., Kent's Farm, Hurstpierpoint, Sussex. Nov. 23, 1931, No. 32399. [Class 44.] Scaffold clamps of the type in which a saddle member 1 encloses one pole 4 and has its legs apertured to receive a second pole 3, the poles being clamped together by a bearing plate 7 and a screw 9, have the bearing plate hinged to the saddle at 12, so that it can be rotated in its own plane without becoming detached, slots 5a in the saddle allowing this movement. The bearing plate carries a hinged flap 15 which takes the bearing of the end of the clamping screw.
