[Class 44.] The rubber button a of a stocking suspender grip is secured to its baseplate by a shank formed by bending narrow metal strips. Figs. 1 and 4 show arms e integral with a circular baseplate b which are bent to provide an upstanding shank and passed through the suspender tape f and through the button. The button is secured by bending the outer ends of the shank arms to lie in a recess in the button. The arms may be close together, as shown, or spaced apart, and may be passed through separate apertures in the button. The baseplate may be of any suitable shape, and may be housed in a pocket in the tape or may have slots for attachment to the tape in known manner. The button may be made removable by bending the outer ends of the shank arms towards one another, or folding one end over the other, Fig. 6, to provide a curved resilient head over which the button can pass. The arms may be formed by stamping tongues out of the baseplate, and may be provided with strengthening ribs. Instead of being integral with the baseplate, the arms e may be formed from a separate strip and a separate base plate c with inturned edge, Fig. 13, secured thereto. Alternatively, the strip may be bent to U-form and the limbs passed through apertures in the baseplate, Fig. 15.
