Abstract
506,708. Tag fasteners. WEISS, S. Sept. 5, 1938, No. 25887. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1937. [Class 44] [Also in Group XV] A tag fastener comprises two limbs 11, 12 to one of which the tag is secured. As shown, tag 14 is secured to limb 11 by a riveted eyelet 15 integral with the limb. Limb 11 has a stamped-out prong 16 adapted to pass through the material, not shown, inserted between the limbs, and through an aperture 18 in limb 12. The limbs are pressed together and the prong is then bent over. Fig. 1 shows a depression 19 adapted to guide the end of the prong to the aperture, and a recess or pocket 22 to receive the prong when bent over. In a modification recess 19 is omitted and in a further form, recess 22 is also omitted. In this case limb 12 is bent to off-set the perforated end out of the general plane of the limb.
