373,435. Spools. SAULTER, A. W., 28, Crichton Avenue, Wallington, Surrey. June 5, 1931, Nos. 16466 and 31715. [Class 120 (iii).] A spool for cables, wire, &c. comprises a sheet metal barrel 1 and annular end flanges 3 of plywood, sheet metal, &c., disposed thereon between circumferential swages 2 on the barrel and the ends of the latter which are turned laterally outwards against the flanges to form narrow lips 5. In a modification the ends are curved or rolled towards the flanges to form beads 4 which may be lined with wire. Specification 347,348 is referred to.
