Abstract
373,392. Loud - speakers. LEISSER, V., Langenlois, Lower Austria. May 12, 1931, No. 14051. Convention date, June 6, 1930. [Class 40 (iv).] The field magnets of loud-speakers are supplied with current from a thermo-couple the hot junction of which is heated catalytically. As shown in plan in Fig. 1, the magnet winding ccnsists of a copper band 2 the ends of which are connected to metal rods 3, 4 which are connected by a conductor 8 of copper nickel alloy. The rod 3 is immersed in a cooling liquid while the rod 4 is embedded in spongy platinum or other catalyst in a vessel 6 to which benzine or other vapour is supplied from a reservoir 12 by means of wicks 15.
