Abstract

373,252. Electric radiators. BENHAM & SONS, Ltd. and ALLENSBY, C. R., 66, Wigmore Street, London. Feb. 17, 1931, No. 5051. [Class 39 (iii).] One or more resistance wires or strips 4 are threaded through the tubes of a plurality of juxtaposed air - filled sections 11 of the type used in hot water radiators, each section comprising two tubes interconnected at the top and bottom. Two or more such radiators may be arranged in parallel. The wire, Fig. 3, is threaded through beads 8 and preferably covered with an asbestos or mica sheath 9. A tell-tale lamp and a thermostat may be provided. The top plugs and one of the bottom plugs of the structure may be removed, the openings being fitted with gauze screens. According to the Provisional Specification a single section is provided with a resistance wire passing down one tube and up the other, the ends of the wire terminating in a suitable plug. A number of such sections may be connected together by sleeve terminals or plug-and-socket connections.
