373,083. Non-refillable bottles. RICHARDSON, W. H., 26, Moffat Road, Tooting, London. Jan. 2, 1932, No. 143. [Class 125 (i).] A non-refillable bottle is formed with a constriction c to act as a seating for a ball valve d, normally held in position by a member f<2>. The member is formed with a middle spherical portion f engaged in a corresponding aperture in a baffle plate e, and the weighted part f<2> keeps the periphery of a cupped portion f<1> in contact with the ball d. When the bottle is tilted sufficiently, the member f<2> moves to allow the ball to leave its seating and the liquid escapes through apertures h, j in the baffle plates e, k.. The neck may be constricted at l above the plate k to increase the difficulty of tampering. In another form the top baffle plate is of a hollow truncated conical shape, a second plate being disposed above the opening to prevent the introduction of liquid. Perforations may be disposed in the neck above the base of the baffle to drain off liquid which it is sought to introduce into the bottle.
