Abstract
224,427. Rockey, N. F. W., and Young, S. D. Feb. 14, 1924. Bottles, non-refillable.-An obturator for non- refillable bottles comprises a hollow member d, having a passage b and a valve seat c<1> at its lower end. A valve a, Figs. 1 and 3, recessed at a', rests upon the valve seat and is limited in its upward movement by the lower end e<1> of a hollow member e, cut away at e<2> to allow the passage of liquid. The members d, e are made of sheet metal and are secured together by interengaging flanges g, resting on a washer h and secured in position by a threaded cap i. The threads on the bottle neck are interrupted by grooves j adapted to be engaged by spring pawls k to prevent unscrewing. The parts d, e may be made from the plate and re-tinned before being secured together, and, according to the Provisional Specification, of glass or porcelain.
