Abstract
372,437. Axle counting devices for railways. VEREINIGTE EISENBAHNSIGNALWERKE GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Feb. 17, 1931, No. 5066. Convention date, Jan. 24. Addition to 372,436. [Class 105.] In the axle counting device of the parent Specification the step-by-step motor is provided with an armature having a large number of pole teeth. As shown in' Fig. 1 the teeth 1, 2 are aligned with the normally active poles 3, 4 while the teeth 5, 6 lie near the poles 7, 8 respectively, so that when one or other pole 7, 8 is excited only a small angular movement takes place. In the form shown in Fig. 2 the poles are sub-divided so that a still smaller movement is effected, the teeth 13, 14 moving into line with the two part-poles 15, 16 when the pole 8 is excited. The normally active poles 3, 4 may be permanent magnets.
