[Class 139.] Winding - apparatus.-A watch is housed in an outer casing 1 having a cover 2, this cover in closing, automatically winding up the watch through a sector 8 on cover 2 and a train of gears 10, 12, 14 to the winding stem 13. The cover is spring-hinged and the hinge is concealed. The watch is hinged in the casing so that it may be swung out for hand-setting. The gear ratio to the winding stem may be increased (or decreased) by replacing the wheel 10 by two wheels of different diameter rigid with axis 9.
