Abstract

In the production of porous masses, cement or plaster of Paris is mixed with woodmeal, sawdust, peat dust or the like which has previously been soaked in a solution of an inorganic sulphate and hydrogen peroxide. In an example of proportions by weight, to 1 part of crude aluminium sulphate in 10 parts of water is added 1 part of 33 per cent hydrogen peroxide. 1 part of sawdust is soaked in this mixture and then added to 8 parts of cement. Specification 363,058 is referred to.
