[Class 112.] Presserfeet.- A presser-foot 8 h a s laterally spaced edgeguides 19, 20 mounted for vertical yielding movements independently of each other and of the presser-foot during the operation of the machine, and one or both of the guides 19, 20 may be releasably latched in inoperative position, so that both may be used together, as when producing narrow beltloops, or one only may be used, as when producing relatively wide beltloops. The presser-foot comprises a foot plate 9 mounted on a pivot pin 13 which engages apertures 11, 12 respectively in the foot plate and shank of the presser foot so that the presserfoot may rock about an axis transverse to the line of seam formation. The edge-guides 19, 20 are mounted by pins 21 to slide vertically in slots 18 in the foot plate 9 against springs 24 in apertures 23 in the foot plate, the springs being retained by a cap plate 25. Pins 28, 29 on the guides 19, 20 limit the vertical movements of these guides, and the pin 28 projects a sufficient amount through a guide aperture 27 as to be engaged by a nose 30 of a lever 31 to lift the guide 19 with its lower surface flush with the underside of the presser-foot, in which position it is retained by a latch lever 33 in engagement with a nose 35 on the lifting lever 31.
