368,815. Hygrometric apparatus. WADE, H., 111, Hatton Garden, London.- (Gherzi-Textile Development Co., Ltd. ; 1, Lowenstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland.) Dec. 8, 1930, No. 36991. [Class 97 (iii).] Apparatus for use in determining the percentage of moisture in hygroscopic materials comprises a balance having a scale pan 3 to receive a sample of the material and a pointer 6 co-operating with a chart 7 graduated in terms of the weight of moisture in the material as a percentage of the weight of material when dry. The sample P of wool, cotton or other hygroscopic material is placed in the pan in a dry condition and the pointer adjusted to the zero of the chart by a sliding weight 2. The exposure of the sample to the atmosphere causes the pan to sink, the deflections of the pointer indicating the state of, and changes in, the hygrometric state of the air.
