Abstract
368,426. Removing sulphur from gases. PREMIX GAS PLANTS, Ltd. and DOCKING, A., 10, Victoria Street, London. Dec. 17, 1930, No. 38106. Addition to 329,973, [Class 55 (ii), Gas manufacture &c.]. Class 55 (ii).] The method of removing sulphur from producer gas according to the parent Specification is modified by providing thermostatically controlled means for regulating the temperature to which the producer gas is raised prior to its entry into the purifier. The producer gas is heated in a heater 2 by gas from a source 4, a diaphragm valve 5 controlling the flow of heating gas. The valve 5 is included in a byepass 7, the upper end of which is in communication with a space on one side of a valve inside the thermostat 8. A byepass 9 allows a little gas to leak past the thermostat valve to the heater. If the temperature inside the purifier rises above the predetermined extent, the thermostat valve closes the gas leak through pipe 9. This results in an increased pressure.in pipe 7 which partly closes the diaphragm valve 5 and reduces the volume of gas to the heater.
