Abstract

367,395. Collapsabletubes. NAUGLE, W. H., 16, Abbey House, 2, Victoria Street, London.-(Statham, N. ; 230, Park Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Nov. 19, 1930, No. 34869. [Class 125 (iii).] Relates to collapsable tubes having slit rubber valves which are operated by the contents of the tube on extrusion. According to the invention the neck of the tube 3 is formed with an inwardly projecting shoulder 4 and the rubber 6 is held thereto by a washer 5, the parts 5, 6 being inserted from the bottom of the tube. The shoulder 4 may be slightly depressed to provide a concave inner surface. A cap 8 may be used having resilient marginal fingers 9 either plain or beaded for engaging the neck of the tube. The cap may have a central depression 9a which bears on the valve 6 and an operating handle 10.
