Abstract
367,326. Surface condensers. SOC. DES CONDENSEURS DELAS, 103, Rue St-Lazare, Paris. Aug. 11, 1930, No. 24030. Convention date, June 6. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 64 (iii).] In a vertical tube condenser plates 10 are provided to prevent condensed liquid from running down the surface of the tubes 1. The joints between the tubes and the plates are made watertight by covering the upper surface of the plates with an elastic material such as rubber. Apertures 13 are provided for the condensate to run off. These may be in the form of a central hole 16 provided with a rim 17 and surrounded by holes 19 ; the jets of water falling through the latter are said to draw air through the central aperture towards the air exhaust 5. The condensate is preferably withdrawn from the hotter side of the condenser, as at 4, while the drains 13 are placed on the colder.
