Abstract

367,272. Moulding confectionery. PONISCH, M., 10, Lindenauerstrasse, Leutzsch, Leipsic, Germany. June 10, 1931, No. 16912. [Class 87 (ii).] A machine for rolling caramel mass into strips comprises pairs of rolls 1, 2; 3, 4; 5, 6 each pair of rolls being arranged at rightangles to the adjacent pair or pairs. As shown in plan in the Figure, the mass 33 is led by guide plates to rolls 1, 2 which produce a rectangular strip which is led, on its edge, between plates 29, 30 to the rolls 3, 4 which produce a smaller rectangular strip which is led by guide plates to rolls 5, 6 which produce the final strip. The rolls are driven by sprocket and other gearing from the main shaft 26, the rotational speed of the rolls increasing as the sectional area of the strip diminishes.
