Abstract

367,158. Fly screens. NORQUIST, R. A., 143, Buffalo Street, and NORQUIST, G. H., 1015, Prendergast Avenue, both in Jamestown, New York, U.S.A. Feb. 5, 1931, No. 3735. [Class 52 (v).] A frame for a wire screen consists of hollow pressed sheet metal members, Fig. 4, having a recessed ledge 13 for the screen and a channel recess in which is housed a member 21 adapted to clamp the screen against the shelf 13. The frame may be formed with a guide groove 2 and may have a reinforcing member 27. A leaf spring 7 may be housed in the guide groove and retained therein by the inturned ends of the channel. The meeting edges of the metal are joined by folding one over the other which is off-set and inturned and soldering by means of a solder strip inserted during folding. The frame joints are mitred and brazed and may be reinforced.
