367,089. Valve seating rings. AXT, F., 102, Hauptstrasse, Osthofen, Rheinhessen, Germany. Dec. 18, 1930, No. 38195. [Class 135.] Valve seating or sealing rings made of homogeneous metal, preferably rustless steel, have the shank a and sealing zone b treated differently, the shank a being left soft enough for working, into its undercut or other securing recess, as shown, whereas the sealing zone b is hardened sufficiently to resist wear. The rings are produced from a rolled blank by jumping, punching, and separating on suitable forging or other machines.
