Abstract
366,976. Corsets. HAWES, G. E. and LA RESISTA CORSET CO., 34, Norman Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut, U.S.A. Nov. 10, 1930, No. 33810. [Class 141.] A corset has a back portion comprising upper and lower parts which are capable of telescoping on one another as the wearer assumes sitting or standing postures. In the form shown in the drawing, the corset has overlapping laterally-arranged sections 10 .. 13 which are capable of being moved over one another. The sections are provided with corresponding stiffeners arranged so that the stiffeners in one section do not register with those in the adjacent section. Vertically -arranged elastic sections 14, 15 are arranged at the ends of the overlapping sections, and are arranged to expand laterally but not vertically. The lower section lap under or over the upper section, and the sections may be interconnected by stretchable fabric.
