Abstract
366,266. Lamp shades and reflectors. JONES, E., Strathmore, Southam Road, Hall Green, KIRBY, A., 42, Nineveh Road, Handsworth, both in Birmingham, and STUBBS, S. P., Weston Croft, New Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. Jan. 21, 1931, No. 1992. [Class 75 (ii).] A lamp shade or reflector comprises panels supported by a carrier with a plurality of arms radiating from a common central member, wh i c h has formed, in it slots or holes for the engagement of the ends of the arms, and means which together with the slots locate the arms. The central boss 9 has holes 9d in the shoulder 9c for the reception of tongues 10a on the ends of the arms 10 which support the panels. Notches 9e in the rim of the boss receive and locate the arms 10, which are locked in position by a washer 12 and nut 13 and screwed stem 9f carried by the central boss. In a modification the tongues 10a are formed as loops through which a wire is passed, so that the arms are hinged to the central boss. The arms have centrally disposed webs for rigidity. When the shades are used for direct lighting the lower ends of the arms are bent over to support the panels.
