Abstract

281,954. Lindley, F. R., and L. H. M. Engineering Co., Ltd. June 7, 1927. Ceiling lamps.-In a daylight ceiling lamp, light is directed upwardly upon the ceiling as well as downwardly, all the light being passed through daylight filtering screens. The lamp comprises a box having flared sides 2 and a bottom 3 hinged at one end and secured at the other end by a fastening 4. In the sides 2 are fitted daylight filtering glass panels 5 and the bottom face 3 is fitted with similar panels 9. Above the panels 9 are arranged spherical or paraboloidal reflectors 10 having the upper parts cut away at 11 so that light from the lamps 12 passes upwardly through the openings 11 and out through the panels 5 on to the ceiling. The lamps 12 are suspended from the top 1 of the box by adjusting screws 13 so that the filaments can be adjusted to the most suitable points relatively to the reflectors 10. The fitting may be suspended from the ceiling by eye-bolts 14. The interior of the box may be enamelled or polished.
