Abstract

366,157. Tension arrangements for yarn-winding machines. HIGGINSON, J. and ARUNDEL, COULTHARD, & CO., Ltd., Sovereign Works, Stockport. Nov. 7, 1930, No. 33502. [Class 120 (ii).] In a yarn winding &c. machine provided with a yarn drag of the type in which the yarn passes between two discs a, b capable of relative rotary movements, the discs are mounted upon a pin c which can swing freely under the pull of the yarn. The pin is secured to a bracket by a spring clip m which is located in a slot in the end of a bush o and engages in a groove beneath the spherical head of the pin, a clearance being provided between the pin and the bush. The disc a is loose on the stem, is provided with a boss which projects below the level of the yarn passing between the discs, and is cupped to hold weighting discs ; the disc b is formed from a short metal tube with a turned-over edge i, and is attached to an apertured disc j which seats upon a conical or spherical shoulder k on the pin c.
