[Class 16.] A device for inserting carbon and like sheets between the pages of a duplicating-book comprises a spindle rotatably mounted at the outer edge of the book and carrying at its ends two levers provided with means for clamping a carbon sheet thereto. The spindle 7 is rotatably and slidably mounted in eyes 5 which are held under a piece of cardboard glued to the cover 1 of the book, and carries at each end a lever 8 of half-circular cross section provided with stops 9. A wire member 10, hinged at one end to the spindle 7 and provided with a head 13, is adapted to lie in the hollow of each lever 8 to clamp the carbon sheet 14 in position. Hooks 12 for engaging the ends of the clamping- wires 10 are formed from steel wires 11 which are soldered to the sides of the levers 8. In a modification the levers consist of springy material such as sheet steel and are formed into circularly-bent springs which do not meet at the top, so that the clamping-wires can be forced into clamping position. In another modification only one clamping-wire and lever are provided. More than one carbon sheet may be used with the device.
