Abstract
364,650. Advertising on absorbent mats. SYMONDS, P. R., Camp, Stroud, Gloucestershire. Sept. 3, 1930, No. 26340. [Class 3 (ii).] A disc 4 carrying advertising matter is adapted to fit in the central depression of a saucer 3, and is also used to absorb any small overflow from the cup. The disc may be suitably shaped by stamping, pressing, &c., or may be made sufficiently flexible to take up the desired contour when the cup is rested on it, radial slots which extend from the centre of the disc almost to the periphery being provided to prevent it from buckling. In a further modification, two discs are attached together concentrically, the upper one carrying the advertising matter and the lower and smaller one engaging the circular depression in the saucer and centralizing the device. The device need not be circular, but may be suitably shaped in accordance with the advertisement.
