Abstract
364,242. Pottery manufacture. HORNE, L. and HORNE, R., 55, King Street, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. Nov. 8, 1930, No. 33614. [Class 87 (i).] Articles are rolled between a moving band c and d a grooved, or inverted L-s e c - tion, rail d so as to pass with rolling or frictional contact between brushes f revolving in opposite directions above and below an opening in a glass table a. The articles are prevented from rising off the table by a cover (not shown) over the band c and the band c is prevented from yielding by a board p. The rail d is mounted on springs e. The brushes fare formed in sections separately mounted on bosses f<1>, spaces l being left between the inner ends of the bristles while the outer ends form a continuous surface. The bosses f<1> are secured on the shaft g by spring keys, spring-loaded balls or the like and may be removed or replaced individually, The brushes are covered by hoods (not shown) communicating with a fan or the like to carry away the dust. The hoods may be removable or pivoted to swing aside for inspection and are cut away near the table to allow room for the articles to pass. The Provisional Specification states that the hoods may be provided with flaps adjacent the table to allow the passage of the articles ; also that the band c may be prevented from yielding by a number of small rollers.
