363,791. Reflectors; lamp supports. KÍRTING & MATHIESEN AKT.-GES., 45, Franz- Flemmingstrasse, Leutzsch, and LAUE, G., 1, Ludwig-Hupfeld-Strasse, both in Leipsic, Germany. Nov. 17, 1930, No. 34627. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iii).] An illuminating device for long narrow working areas such as weaving machines comprises a dished reflector 1 having a light projecting opening of substantially oval shape and a dome or box-like housing 5 symmetrically disposed on the back for receiving the lamp socket. A side opening 7 may be provided for the lateral passage of light. Eyelets 6 are provided on the reflector for suspension members arranged to prevent twisting of thereflector. Fig. 5 shows a suspension device comprising a stirrup 8 having its top horizontal arm 9 pivoted in hooks 10 and its bottom arm 11 engaging spaced hooks 12 on the lamp. Fig. 7 shows a spanning wire 13 arranged above the machine 14 between supports 15 and slidably carrying the lamps by elongated attachment members 17 having hooks or clamps engaging the wire. The current leads 19 may be helically coiled around the spanning wire or held taut by pulleys and a counterweight. A stirrup such as 8 may be suspended from a small trolley running along the wire 13 and the pendant may be telescopic to adjust the height of each lamp. The suspension devices may be resilient and may allow of lateral swinging of the lamp.
