Abstract
363,595. Rontgen-ray tubes; cables. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. April 23, 1931, No. 12086. Convention date, April 30, 1930. Addition to 293,731, [Class 36, Electricity, Conducting &c.]. [Class 39 (i).] In X-ray installations in which cooling liquid for the X-ray tube is led through a passage in the electric supply cable as in the parent Specification, the cable and the connection of the cable to the tube are so constructed that the cooling medium is not electrostatically loaded, the formation of gas in the medium being thus avoided. The hollow conductor 19 of the cable contains concentric rubber tubes 18, 16. A nipple 20 at the end of the tube 16 is fixed within a bush 14 at the end of a tube 12 carrying the anticathode head. The resilient edge 15 of the bush 14 contacts with a contact 21 on the conductor 19 and the tube 18 fits over a tube 13. The cooling liquid is supplied through the tubes 18, 13 and is discharged through the tubes 12, 16 and is everywhere in a fieldless space. A metal cover 17 on the cable is joined to the metal envelope 26 around the X-ray tube 10 and an insulating block 22 cemented on the end of the cable fits into a block 27 at the end of an insulating tube 28 around the tube 10. The cooling medium is circulated by an electrically driven pump.
