Abstract

363,245. Smokers' ash receptacles. HENNAH, H. S., 14, Regent Arcade House, Oxford Circus, London. March 11, 1931, No. 7512. [Class 130.] The inlet opening 3 of an ash receptacle is provided with triangular flaps 5 each pivoted about one edge 6, the flaps being retained in a horizontal position, by counterbalance weights 8 or by light springs, but turning about their pivots under the weight of a cigar or cigarette butt &c. to admit the object into the receptacle. As shown, the flaps are arranged in the form of a square. The bottom 9 of the receptacle is convex in order to deflect cigar &c. butts to the sides.
