Abstract

362,918. Securing parts of wooden structures together. RAWLINGS, A. D., 46, Westmoreland Road, and GORNALL, W. H., 8, Merthyr Terrace, both in Barnes, London. May 29, 1930, Nos. 16636 and 23146. [Class 108 (i).] Parts of wooden structures such as the wooden under frames of motor vehicles are secured together by means of a screw which can rotate but cannot move endwise engaging a nut or equivalent which can move endwise but cannot rotate. In the case of the bottom boards of the wooden underframes of motor vehicles the fittings consist of a metal bracket 34 with a threaded hole, and a screw 6 of which the head is flush with the top of the board and held against endwise movement by engagement of a metal plate 32 with a circumferential groove 31 around the head of the screw.
